New Zealand-based archive label Strangelove Music look to Portugal for their next release, a compilation of un-issued works from experimental-pop duo DWART.
‘Electricidade Estética’ documents the musical landscape of Portuguese counter-culture in the 1980s; existing somewhere between post new wave and avant-garde, brought about by the new music technologies available to them at the time and a desire to push sonic boundaries of what was creatively possible.
The jewel in the crown, so to speak, is today’s premiere “Mate”, a beautiful floating composition that explores how synthetic and organic sounds converge and exhibits DWART’s quest for their own unique artistic language.
‘Electricidade Estética’ will be released on 20th September via Strangelove Music. Pre-order your copy.
