Earlier this year Renate resident Johannes Albert released his first long player since his debut LP Hotel Novalis back in 2013. Released on his own Frank Music imprint, Lichtenberg was an ode to the area he moved to in the suburbs of Berlin, merging influences from EBM to synth-pop and new age.
To follow up the release Albert has invited several producers to reimagine some of the tracks from the album, which includes offerings from Lauer, Kiwi and Marbod. Our selection comes from Innervisions and Permanent Vacation regular Aera, who lends his hand to ‘Hooligan’. Lending his ethereal stylings to the original, he strips back the low strung bass adding a soaring piano sequence and bleeping synth lines.
Gleis 1 – Lichtenberg Remixes will be released at the end of July on Frank Music. Pre-order your copy.
