Dangerzone [Interview] @Dangerzone2014

What was the biggest surprise when you met DJ Pain.

The main thing that surprised me was the fact that DJ Pain 1 actually knew who I was. Everyone who attended the Beatstars conference was introducing themselves one by one then when I introduced myself DJ Pain 1 was actually excited to see me. It caught me off guard because he knew exactly who I was. Which just put a smile on my face, because I’m extremely thankful to be supported by one of the producers I’ve Idolized for nearly a decade. Truly is a blessing

What was going through your mind when you met DJ Pain 1?

Truthfully I was at a loss for words simply because DJ Pain 1 is a producer I grew up listening to. Working with DJ Pain 1 has been a major goal for me since i was about 12 years old. I’ve always been a fan of the particular sound he has. One of my favorite songs he’s produced is “Pain won’t stop” by Joe Budden. I actually met Pain 1 at a Beatstars conference in Austin, Texas. I truly am looking forward to working with DJ Pain 1 on more music in the future.

Is “Blinded by sorrow” the only track you and DJ Pain 1 have collaborated on?

No, DJ Pain 1 actually produced a song from my debut album Truth Revealed. The song is called “Living in the past (Feat. Joseph Dev). “Living in the past” Speaks on the subject of holding grudges and the importance of not allowing the past dictate the outcome of the future. In the song I speak on how holding onto the past can essentially prevent you from growing both mentally and spiritually.

What do you remember most about the Beatstars conference?

The main thing I remember is watching DJ Pain 1 work while I was attempting to make a beat in FL Studios. I was only like 30 minutes into the beat making process. I began to notice that I wasn’t even close to being finished with the beat I was working on. As a matter of fact, I wasn’t even halfway done. That’s when I looked up and noticed that DJ Pain 1 was already done with the beat he had been working on. In my head, I was all like “Man that’s not even fair.” All out of good spirits of course. I thought it was hilarious to be brutally honest with you.

Is there anything you’d like to say to DJ Pain 1?

All I have to say is DJ Pain 1 is one of the coolest dudes ever not just as a producer but as a person. Dude is extremely humble and just a really cool dude to hang around. One thing about that dude is he’s extremely smart and he isn’t afraid to provide the proper guidance to artists looking to succeed in the music industry. I have nothing but positive things to say about that dude.
