BMG announced the promotion of Patrick Joest to executive vice president of global partnerships and synch on Monday (Jan. 14). He will work in the Berlin, Germany, office and report directly to Hartwig Masuch, the company’s CEO.
“This is a significant new appointment to help BMG’s artist and songwriter clients secure the best commercial advantage from our relationships with digital and brand partners,” said Masuch in a statement. “Since the earliest days of BMG, Patrick Joest has proven himself an astute and results-oriented executive, helping create arguably the most innovative approach to synch in the world. We congratulate him on this significant broadening of his responsibilities.”
Joest was recently the global evp of international licensing and marketing — a position he held since 2014. In his expanded role, Joest is responsible for the company’s B2B content partnerships and building digital and brand partner relationships. He will also develop an internationally cohesive team to work on social media, digital sales and marketing, and content capabilities.
“I’m excited and honored to be given the opportunity to support our artist clients and our dynamic recorded business in working with digital and brand partners, and bringing together our digital teams to deliver the global service that artists expect from a modern music company,” added Joest.
