“It’s inspired by two years of surviving with [bass player] Oso Peligro in London in dodgy tiny rooms, sometimes sharing an inflatable bed covered with coats instead of blankets for weeks,” says Roca.
The song’s fucked-up time signature is matched by a trippy video featuring Peligro (in the red tracksuit), “and our guitar player, Keanu Reeves (in the yellow tracksuit).”
How is Roca finding life in London? “The quality of the emerging scene here is crazy,” he tells us. “It is very easy to come out of a gig with your mouth open with bands like Sistertalk and Horsey. That is very inspiring and has made me more critical of my own music and live show. Back in Spain we didn’t care that much about actually playing right.
“Coming from a tiny city in the south of Spain, London is like a giant theme park where you get kicked out if you don’t run from one attraction to another.”
The band play live in London this Saturday at The Post Bar (25 May) and next month at The Victoria (14 June) before heading back to Spain for slots at BBK Live and Benicàssim.
